The Forgotten King – Robbie Cottrell
I was unaware of this book until it was mentioned by our MWGM during the Webinar Presentation given by MW Bro. Bharat V Epur, Grand Master of the Grand Court of the Masonic Order of Athelstan in India on ‘The Life & Times of King Athelstan & An Introduction to the Masonic Order of Athelstan" on 27th June.
It is a historical novel “based on a true story”. The main fictional character being Alder, who is King Athelstan’s Scribe, and the story is told through his “eyes”.
It is a short but interesting book. Well worth a read.
The author is Brother Robbie Cottrell, a member of a Court in the Province of Kent. He was born in 1947 and worked for over 50 years on the River Thames.
